A commercial establishment, regardless of area, that mainly offers for sale:

  • pharmaceutical products;
  • hygiene products;
  • health products.

The calculation of the maximum number of people (maximum of four) excludes:

  • professionals governed by the Pharmacy Act (chapter P-10);
  • staff assigned exclusively to the preparation of medicines.

Penalties (drugstores)

  • A minimum $1 500 fine for a first offence
  • A minimum $3 000 fine for each repeat offence

When setting the amount of the fine, the court can consider the benefits and income derived from the establishment’s operation.
